You must have a unique e-mail address. (Everyone who owns or is employed by the same business must have their own e-mail address.)
You may pay with PayPal by clicking the appropriate membership checkbox and the second one underneath the phrase "Click below to authorize dues payment of : $ ___."
HOWEVER, by sending a CHECK to Donald F. Sproul, P.O. Box 4666, Augusta, ME 04330 instead of using PayPal, you will save $5 on your membership fee. Make your check payable to MELNA and subtract $5 from the fee listed. On the online application, click the checkbox of your membership type, but do not check the second checkbox ("authorize dues payment"). Complete the rest and click on "SEND."
During the online application process you will be able to add a logo to the Member Directory and several photographs if you like. Please e-mail the Web Site Administrator if you have difficulty optimizing, resizing, or uploading your images.
If you are applying for Active, Associate, or Allied memberships, enter the NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS in the Title field. For all other memberships, enter your LAST NAME in the Title field.
At the bottom of the form, please select the categories (membership, Maine Region, and certifications) for listing yourself in the online directory.
You may upload your logo if it does not exceed 300 kilobytes. Recommended size is between 120 and 150 pixels in width.
Photographs for your online photo gallery should be 500px or less in width. (Upload may also be done at a later time.) You may also send your images to the Web Site Administrator via email.

As soon as application information and dues are recieved, you will be added to the online MELNA Member Directory. After supplying a login name and password you will be able to login and view members-only pages, edit your contact information, and change/add photographs to your own online gallery.
Levels of Membership:
Active – Active membership is a corporate level membership for any Maine based company or individual proprietor that derive the majority of their income from practicing in the field of horticulture and allied professions. Maine Certified Professionals may join as Active Member only if their company is not an Active Member. Only Active Members are allowed a voting interest in the governance of MELNA. $140.00 per year.
Allied - Allied membership is a corporate level membership for all suppliers' companies, as well as out of state nurseries, landscape companies, and other out of state green industry professionals who want to join MELNA. Allied members receive all the benefits of Active members except for voting rights. $140.00 per year.
Associate - Associate membership is for individuals who are engaged in or allied with the green industry, but who are not joining as a business. Examples would be educators, government employees, employees of a company who is a member, employees of a company who is a non-member, landscape architects, landscape designers, horticultural therapists, master gardeners, etc. Any member discounts of benefits do not extend beyond the individual who is an associate member. Maine Certified Professionals may join as Associate Member. $30.00 per year.
Student - Student membership is for students enrolled as a degree student in horticulture at an accredited college or university. $10.00 per year.
Active Members hold the right to vote; all members shall be permitted to attend meetings of the Association, whether executive committee, special or annual and shall be accorded all privileges and obligations of membership.
All memberships expire on June 30. Renewal invoices are typically mailed in June; with memberships not renewed by July 31 considered to be lapsed at that time.
For new members joining From Dec. 1 through Feb 28, only 50% of dues is required for membership through June 30.
For new members joining from March 1 through June 30; pay one year’s dues and your membership will be good through June 30 of the FOLLOWING year (up to 16 months membership for one year’s dues).
